Distal Intestinal Obstruction Syndrome (DIOS)

One of the unique problems that can develop in someone with CF is a condition in which the bowel or intestine may become partly blocked.  This can cause a lot of pain, bloating, cramping and nausea.  About 1 out of every 10-20 people with CF get DIOS.  CF Dietitians across Canada wrote an information sheet that explains what DIOS is, how to recognize it and how it is best treated.
