Cystic Fibrosis related Diabetes (CFRD):

As people are living longer with CF, some other conditions like impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes are becoming more common.  In the adult clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital, we are seeing about 40% of our patients with different degrees of impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes.  Please click on the links from Cystic Fibrosis Canada for more information about CF related diabetes, how it is diagnosed and how it is treated in CF.

Information on impaired glucose tolerance can be downloaded from the CF Canada website (under the CF Health menu) here.

A full manual about the management of CFRD is available in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website.
